Midnight Movie Showing Turns Deadly.
A midnight showing at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater turned deadly overnight with the shooting death of 10 movie goers. The incident took place at the Town Center in Aurora at the Century 16
theater. There were at least 50 people injured, according to Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates. Oates says 10 died at the theater and two died at the area hospital.
The movie multiplex in the Town Center Mall is a part of large shopping mall managed by Simon Property Group, Inc.. The Mall is located at 14200 East Alameda Avenue Aurora, CO
The suspect arrested is a Colorado resident in his 20’s. The suspect, after being captured by police, told authorities he had explosives in his apartment. The police went to his apartment building at East 17th Avenue and Peoria Street in Aurora and evacuated the building immediately as a precautionary measure.
Aurora police reported victims have been taken to six different area hospitals. The FBI has been called in to to investigate the shooting. Local officers and deputies responded from almost every police and sheriffs’ department in the metropolitan area.
